1. Overview
This Refund Policy applies to all Pro plan subscriptions for Emoji Translator. Our goal is to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining a sustainable service.
2. 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for first-time Pro subscribers.
2.1 Eligibility
- You are eligible if this is your first Pro subscription purchase
- You request a refund within 7 days of your initial subscription payment
- You have not previously received a refund for Emoji Translator Pro
2.2 What Happens
- Full refund of your first subscription payment
- Your Pro access will be immediately revoked upon refund processing
- You will revert to the Free plan with standard limits (1,000 phrases, 20 glosses per day)
- Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days to your original payment method
3. Cancellation vs. Refund
It's important to understand the difference between canceling and requesting a refund:
3.1 Cancellation
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings
- You retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period
- No refund is issued for the current billing period
- You will not be charged for future billing periods
- Your account automatically reverts to the Free plan after the billing period ends
3.2 Refund Request
- Must be requested within the eligible refund period (7 days for new subscribers)
- Results in immediate termination of Pro access
- Payment is returned to your original payment method
4. Renewal Subscriptions
For subscription renewals (beyond your first billing cycle):
4.1 Standard Policy
- Renewal payments are generally non-refundable
- You should cancel before your renewal date if you do not wish to continue
- Renewal reminders are sent by Paddle (our payment processor) before billing
4.2 Exceptional Circumstances
We may consider refund requests for renewal payments on a case-by-case basis in exceptional circumstances:
- Technical issues that prevented you from using the Service
- Billing errors or duplicate charges
- Service outages lasting more than 48 hours
- Other extraordinary situations at our discretion
To request consideration for an exceptional refund, please contact support with details of your situation.
5. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will NOT be issued in the following situations:
- You have used the Pro service beyond the 7-day money-back guarantee period
- You have previously received a refund for Emoji Translator Pro
- Your account was terminated for violation of our Terms of Service
- You changed your mind after the refund period has expired
- You failed to cancel before an automatic renewal
- You are unable to use the Service due to incompatible hardware or browser requirements (these are clearly stated in our documentation)
- You did not meet the daily usage limits on the Free plan (this is by design)
6. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund within the eligible period:
Method 1: Direct Contact

- Include the following information:
- Your install ID (found in the extension settings or side panel)
- Paddle transaction ID or receipt (if available)
- Reason for refund request (optional but helpful)
- Date of original purchase
- We will respond within 2 business days
- Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days
Method 2: Through Paddle
- Log into your Paddle account or click the link in your receipt email
- Navigate to your subscription management page
- Follow Paddle's refund request process
- Paddle will forward eligible requests to us for approval
7. Refund Processing
7.1 Timeline
- Request Review: Within 2 business days of your request
- Refund Processing: 5-10 business days after approval
- Bank Processing: Additional 3-5 business days depending on your financial institution
7.2 Method
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for purchase
- We cannot issue refunds to different payment methods or accounts
- If the original payment method is no longer valid, please contact Paddle support
8. Billing Disputes and Chargebacks
8.1 Disputed Charges
If you see a charge you don't recognize or believe is incorrect:
- Contact us at support@example.com with your concerns
- We will investigate and respond within 2 business days
- Most billing issues can be resolved quickly without chargebacks
8.2 Chargeback Consequences
If you file a chargeback:
- Your Pro access will be immediately suspended pending investigation
- If the chargeback is found to be unwarranted, your account may be permanently terminated
- Chargeback fees may be passed on to you as allowed by law
- You may be unable to subscribe to Pro in the future
9. Technical Issues
If you're experiencing technical problems with the Service:
9.1 Before Requesting a Refund
- Check our documentation and FAQ for common solutions
- Ensure your browser and system meet minimum requirements:
- Chrome browser version 100 or higher
- WebGPU-compatible device
- Sufficient storage for AI model downloads (~500MB)
- Contact support for assistance - we can often resolve issues quickly
9.2 Extended Outages
If the Service is unavailable for an extended period:
- We may offer prorated refunds or service credits
- Outages of less than 48 hours do not qualify for refunds
- Scheduled maintenance windows are announced in advance and do not qualify for refunds
10. Free Plan - No Refunds
The Free plan of Emoji Translator does not involve any payment and therefore:
- No refunds are applicable
- You can stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the extension
- Daily limits (1,000 phrases, 20 glosses) are enforced as stated
11. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this page. Material changes will be communicated through:
- Update to the "Last Updated" date
- In-extension notification (for active Pro users)
- Email notification (for Pro subscribers)
Changes to the refund policy do not affect subscriptions purchased before the change, unless required by law.
12. Payment Processor Terms
All payments are processed through Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"). In addition to this Refund Policy, you are also subject to Paddle's terms and conditions:

In case of any conflict between this policy and Paddle's terms, this policy shall govern for refund eligibility decisions.
13. Consumer Rights
This Refund Policy does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws, including but not limited to:
- EU Consumer Rights Directive: 14-day cooling-off period for digital content (if not yet fully performed)
- UK Consumer Rights Act: Rights to refunds for faulty digital content
- Australian Consumer Law: Consumer guarantees
If your local laws provide stronger refund rights, those rights apply in addition to this policy.
